Lakehead Public Schools + Child Care Providers = Successful Students

Local daycare providers and Lakehead Public Schools have formed a very beneficial child-focused partnership. At Lakehead Public Schools sites, daycare providers and school educators are working together to ensure that current and future students are prepared to succeed in elementary school and beyond.We are very pleased to offer Before and After School Child Care Services in our Full-Day Early Learning Program schools. Each year, all schools offering this program will survey their school communities to determine the interest in these services. Before and/or After School Programs will be offered in schools where there are sufficient numbers of interested families.

Please view the following table for a list of child care centres, their programs, hours of operation, and contact inforamtion. All program information and hours of operation indicated below are for the current school year as well as next year. Any changes will be updated and indicated in the table.

Fee subsidies are available for qualified families. Please contact District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration at 766-2111.
All programs are available for students from JK to Grade 6.
In the event that the planned child care program is cancelled the extended day program will be operated in the school but the fees, days and times of operation may change.
Transportation to and from all licensed child care centres in our community is also available for Lakehead Public Schools students.

Please note that some fees may be reduced for centres serving children under 6 that enroll in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system. Please contact the child care program directly for additional details.
